O Airbus A318 da OceanAir (Avianca), matrícula PR-ONI, decolou de Porto Alegre às 14h40 do dia 28 de setembro realizando o voo ONE6123 (POA-GRU). Após a decolagem, o comandante solicitou manter 5000 pés e uma proa para realizar um check devido possibilidade de problema hidráulico. Aproximadamente às 15h10 o piloto solicitou pouso de emergência confirmando pane hidráulica. O pouso ocorreu pela pista 11 às 15h25, com a presença dos caminhões de bombeiros nas taxiways. O PR-ONI ficou parado sobre a pista por 8 minutos, quando iniciou táxi por meios próprios até o pátio 2 para desembarcar os passageiros. Depois o Airbus foi rebocado ao pátio TAP.

An Avianca Brazil Airbus A318-100, registration PR-ONI performing flight O6-6123 from Porto Alegre,RS to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil), was climbing out of Porto Alegre's runway 11 when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet reporting the failure of the green hydraulics system. The aircraft burned off fuel, the crew reported a dual hydraulic failure of green and yellow systems and returned to Porto Alegre for a safe landing on runway 11 about 40 minutes after departure. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The airline did not comment.

The airport confirmed a mechanical malfunction of the aircraft prompted the return.

Passengers reported they were instructed to take off shoes, accessories and sharp objects, then were instructed to assume brace positions for landing.
