Hoje pela manhã tava ouvindo o Vetoração Radar, haviam vários tráfegos em espera para o GIG, inclusive um United informando estar no limite do combustível, o controlador informou vários tráfegos na fila, e informou " PISTA JÁ ESTÁ SENDO LIBERADA,O AMERICAN JÁ ESTÁ SENDO RETIRADO " algumas aeronaves pousaram na 33 executando RNAV, o Delta 61 foi uma delas , parece que a cabeceira inversa à 28, a 10 está em obras, então está com comprimento dos 4000mts reduzido , alguem do RJ sabe o que aconteceu?

Pousou na 10/28 e entrou em uma Taxiway fechada, parece que teve que ser rebocada. Era o vôo de JFK com o 777.

Incident: American B772 at Rio de Janeiro on Jan 14th 2012, overran runway on landing

An American Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N790AN performing flight AA-973 (dep Jan 13th) from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Rio de Janeiro Galeo,RJ (Brazil), landed on Galeao Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport's runway 28, but overran the active (displaced) end of the runway into the closed off portion of the runway. No injuries occurred.

The runway was closed for about 80 minutes as a result.

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight on schedule after the planned ground time of about 13 hours.

Brazil's Civil Aviation Authority ANAC confirmed on Jan 16th 2012 they have received information about such an incident, they are awaiting further report from Brazil's Accident Investigation and Prevention Unit CENIPA.

Runway 28 is normally 4000 meters/13120 feet long, however, at the time of the incident the last 1270 meters/4170 feet had been closed due to work in progress leaving a landing distance of 2730 meters/8950 feet available.
