Delta will discontinue service to Fortaleza, Brazil, with the last flight leaving Fortaleza on September 6th. It was originally supposed to be a seasonal suspension until November, but last week the flight was removed from OAG and yesterday it was removed from GDS, which confirms the discontinuation.

The flight currently operates twice a week. It was launched as a 4x weekly service in December 2008 tagged onto a triangle route with Recife, which was discontinued last fall.

Esses voos que operam 1 ou 2 vezes por semana dificilmente duram muito tempo. Como a nota diz, ele começou 4x na rota ATL-FOR-REC-ATL, mas como a base Recife foi encerrada com menos de 1 ano, era questão de tempo pra Fortaleza ser cortada, infelizmente. A Delta não conseguiu bater de frente com a American em REC e no final FOR acabou sobrando por tabela.
