Our instructors all love their work. You will fly with the same instructor for most of your training. In this way one person is responsible for your progress and is accountable for your safety. You and your instructor will plan for mutually convenient times to train. You determine your schedule, rate of progress, and expenses per month. You can phone in your appointment requests or look at the schedule and reserve your lessons on the Internet. We will be here when you want to fly because we operate 7 days a week from 6:30 AM to midnight.

We use Cessna 172S aircraft, the latest model from the assembly line in Independence, Kansas. This plane can teach you a great deal for years as you progress. Each has modern equipment you will want to learn how to use. We supplement your training with an advanced AST simulator and an Elite FTD so that you have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of modern electronic navigation displays quickly and efficiently. Our maintenance is first rate, and we encourage you to compare the quality of our record keeping with that of any other flight school.

Our students have the option to observe lessons from the back seat. Since the airplane has a four-place intercom an observer can see and hear everything and talk to the student and instructor up front. While not logged, this observation time shortens the number of hours of instruction you need to earn a license and is available free of charge.

We do not ask for a lump sum up front. Payment for each of your flight lessons is due at the conclusion of that lesson. Only your satisfaction will keep you here so we work hard to keep you moving forward. Our training rates are competitive, and our success rate is very high. The hourly rates are posted on our web site, www.pfsschedule.com. You can login with a username and password of “guest”. The total cost works out to about $16,000. I am not quoting the FAA minimum training, but what you can expect to pay on average.

Your actual cost depends on the number of hours you need to train to reach the required level of proficiency--the FAA requires a minimum of 40 flight hours. While the national average is close to double the minimum, we often have students complete the program in 50-70 hours. A discount on flight training rates is available for students who join our Admiral’s Club. Participation in this program will save you money if you train aggressively.

The plane is approximately $150/hour with the engine running. The instructor is $50/hour additional for flight or ground training time. Each lesson is typically $300 or so, however, it could be more or less depending on the traffic and objectives. The more you are prepared, the easier all this will be.
