Miami Air replaces N727HK with a 737-400

Miami Air International (Miami) as previously reported will replace their last Boeing 727-200 (727-212 N727NK, msn 21945) in a special ceremony at Miami on Friday (December 22). It is the last passenger 727 based at MIA. The 727 was introduced at Miami on February 1, 1964 when Eastern Airlines inaugurated Boeing 727-25 service to Washington (Dulles) and Philadelphia. N727NK, which has been operated as the Miami Heat NBA basketball VIP team charter aircraft is being replaced by a newer ex-Asiana Boeing 737-48E N753MA (msn 28053, ex HL7518) in full Miami Heat black and red colors and titles.

Miami Air is also again leasing for the winter season Boeing 737-81Q N906MA (msn 29052, ex G-XLAD). However this time it is being leased in full XL.com new colors with small "Operated by Miami Air" stickers on the nose wheel doors.
